Our team brings extensive experience supporting applicants admitted to Ivy League institutions, religiously affiliated colleges, state universities, service academies, business schools, art and design colleges, and international universities, among others. With expertise spanning both undergraduate and transfer admissions, we provide comprehensive guidance designed to position each student for success throughout every stage of the process.
Shelley Levine
Shelley Levine, a Certified Educational Planner (CEP), has successfully guided students and families through the college admissions process for more than 35 years. Her CEP designation, awarded by the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners, reflects the highest standards in the profession and signifies extensive experience, advanced training, ethical practice, and a deep commitment to student-centered advising.
Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, has completed advanced coursework through Johns Hopkins University, and earned a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. As the founder of MATHWORKS, Shelley is also a recognized expert in standardized testing. She is widely published on college admission topics and has been interviewed by both Washington, DC-based and national media, including Bethesda Magazine, Washington Jewish Week, the Potomac Gazette, Washington Monthly, and WTOP. She has presented and led workshops for college fairs, local high schools, and community organizations, and is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
Jodi Siegel
Jodi Siegel is an independent college admissions consultant with over 20 years of experience, including 9 years as an Admissions Officer at The George Washington University. At GW, she reviewed first-year and transfer applications and managed re-admission and internal transfer processes.
She has contributed insights to college admissions platforms such as College Confidential and been quoted in The Washington Post and other local publications. She regularly presents on college admissions topics within Montgomery County Public Schools and to parent audiences, and has also presented to CollegeTracks staff, where she volunteers. She previously served on the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School College Advisory Committee and volunteers with organizations including CollegeTracks USA and FORA (Forging Opportunities for Refugees in America).
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from American University and a Master of Arts from The George Washington University and is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the Higher Education Consultants Association.
Chloe Rothstein
Chloe Rothstein, M.S.Ed., has over two decades of experience in undergraduate admissions, including serving as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Johns Hopkins University for five years. There, she rendered decisions on thousands of applications each year. On admissions committees, Chloe gained insight into how academic coursework, standardized testing and extracurricular activities affect admissions decisions. She also played a role in the admissions process of transfer, international and graduate students.
Chloe has presented on panels for such organizations as College Board and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. In addition, she is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. A 2016 Supreme Court of the United States decision quoted Chloe’s work in SAT Wars, a book about the role of standardized testing in the admissions process. Chloe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Science degree in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania, where her coursework focused on both undergraduate and graduate-level admissions processes in the United States.
Michelle Jacobs
Michelle Jacobs, Ed.D., has over fifteen years of expertise on both sides of admissions. She has been an independent consultant with College Bound since 2016. Previously, she served as Director of College Counseling at a local private school, where she guided 200 students annually as they navigated the college admissions process.
Michelle also worked at the George Washington University, including as an Assistant Director in the Office of Admissions, reviewing thousands of applications and recruiting at high schools across the country. Prior to working in admissions, Michelle taught high school English in Howard County, Maryland. Michelle earned her doctorate in higher education from GW, researching how students' college search, choice, and academic match are influenced by fit. She holds a master's in higher education from GW and a bachelor's from the University of Maryland, College Park. Michelle is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and has presented at national conferences on various topics related to students' college choice and experience.
